The California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) is a not-for-profit corporation supported through player registration fees, league fees, sponsorships and donations. CYSA is divided into nine Districts. District IX covers the counties of Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for youth players of all levels of skill to participate in soccer programs. CYSA alum Stephanie Cox and Megan Rapinoe were named by head coach Pia Sundhage to the 2011 US Women's World Cup team. Stephanie will be representing the US for the third time having participated in the 2007 World Cup as well as the 2008 Olympic team. Megan will be making her first World Cup appearance. At the October 10th District Board Meeting District Commissioner elections were held. Mike Massa, current Red Bluff Youth Soccer President, was elected by acclimation to the position of District IX Commissioner. After a 10+ year run as District Commissioner, Richard Pinnell decided it was time to step down and relax a little. We thank Rich for his tireless efforts on behalf of the kids of District IX and all of CYSA.
CYSA District IX has launched a new coaching course registration website. Need to know what courses are coming up? Where they are? This is the spot! http://www.cysacoaching.info
In addition to giving coaches the ability to directly register for upcoming courses, the site has information on the coaching methodologies, the CYSA coaching progression and more. The site will also allow the District to contact coaches directly about upcoming courses if they have provided CYSA with their email addresses upon registering to coach.
